What is the dining philosophy at Connemara Sands?
We follow a simple idea: Connemara on a Plate. This means showcasing the very best of our region — fresh seafood from local waters, mountain-reared lamb, honey from our own hives, and even seaweed ice cream from a trusted local maker.

Where can I eat during my stay?

Sands Bar & Restaurant

A relaxed and welcoming space, the Sands Bar & Restaurant offers a mix of modern Irish and European dishes, perfect for dinner, or casual evening drinks. It’s a family-friendly setting with a cosy atmosphere, featuring:

• Seasonal menus with fresh, local ingredients
• A full bar with Irish craft beers and cocktails
• Live music on selected evenings

Cois Trá Food Truck

Our newest dining option — Cois Trá (Irish for “beside the sea”) — is a fun, casual food truck experience located just steps from the beach.
Enjoy:

• Lunchtime favourites like fish & chips, sausage rolls, or sourdough pizza
• Early evening casual dining with a local twist
• Craft drinks and cold refreshments

Flexible ordering — if the food truck is closed, snacks and light meals can be ordered directly from the bar

Who creates the menus?

Our Head Chef, Sinéad Quinn, leads a passionate team dedicated to sourcing high-quality, local produce and creating dishes that feel both fresh and comforting.

We happily accommodate most dietary requirements, including:

Can non-guests dine at the hotel?

Yes! Both the Sands Bar & Restaurant and the Cois Trá food truck (when open) welcome non-resident guests. It’s best to book ahead for the bar/restaurant during busy periods.
