Cois Trá – Rugged Retreat

Residents and non-residents are welcome to use Rugged Retreat. You can use the spa facilities if you are not staying at the hotel. Strictly no children under 12 years. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Our outdoor wellness area includes seaweed baths, a hot tub, cold plunge, outdoor showers, and our beachside barrel sauna. Each element is designed to connect you with the surrounding landscape.

Please bring own towel and flip flops if non hotel guest. Access to the beach from the sauna is a bit rocky, so footwear or flip flops are advisable.

There are changing rooms and an outdoor shower beside the seaweed baths & Hot-tub where you can get changed. There is a separate changing room beside the beachside sauna.

All bookings need to made in advance. You can book online here, or book directly with reception when you arrive. We advise booking early especially during weekends and peak seasons.

Your bath is prepared in advance and gently infused with hand-harvested Atlantic seaweed. As it steeps in the warm water, the seaweed releases natural minerals and nourishing oils known for their skin-softening and soothing properties.

You can adjust the temperature to your comfort, then simply relax and let the warmth and natural elements work their magic—whether you choose to sink back and unwind or enjoy the gentle ritual of the seaweed around you.

Our barrel sauna is located by the shore, allowing you to alternate between the heat of the sauna and a refreshing sea dip (just a short walk away at low tide). It’s a simple, invigorating ritual -whatever the season. Bing your flip flops to walk to the sea.

No, all treatments, including the beach sauna need to be booked in advance.
